World's Most Expensive Coin - Auero & Calicó Auctioned
Sunday, October 25, 2009
The world saw its most expensive coin at the recently held auction in Barcelona. Organised by Auero & Calicó, this grand event had a participating coin that is being celebrated as the last one from the 1609 centen coin which is remarkable as the biggest solid gold coin to be ever minted in Spain.
A very rare money, this coin attracted a lot of attention from bidders, onlookers and media alike. Finally, it was sold to a huge bid of $1,202,566. The identity of the lucky bidder has been kept anonymous. We just know him as the bidder no. 74 and that this super rich person came from Europe. In fact, the surprised on his face was quite evident when he saw that absolutely no one challenged his opening bid of 1,202,566.
The coin in question was minted in Segovia and belonged to the priceless Knight of the Yndias collection that was on auction in Barcelona. There were other 2,200 rare items in gold on auction too. But it was this coin that stole the limelight.

Gold Quality, Gold Buying Tips
Sunday, August 2, 2009
Know Why You Are Buying As we know, people buy jewelry for different reasons because they people are using it in a variety of purposes as well. Some collect it as a form of investment while others merely go for it as an ornament. These reasons, most of the time, give variations on how people get the right jewelry for them. If you are the type who considers gold as an investment, you should be looking for the quality like looking for the purest ones. On the other hand, if you tend to use it for ornamental purposes, you may just settle for cheaper and less pure forms of gold jewelry.
Quality When buying gold jewelry, the first thing that you should ask for is its value. Gold’s purity is always measured in karats. You may see them labeled with 24K, 18K, 14K, 12K, and 10K. Just remember, the higher the number associated with gold, the purer it is. The one with 24K is made with pure gold, while others are 75 percent, 58.3 percent, 50 percent, and 41.7 percent respectively. So depending on how you will use the jewelry, you need to choose the best gold quantity in it. If you plan it for daily use, 24K is not a good idea because it is soft. You may choose the jewelry with mixture of other metals if you go after its durability, and good news, that doesn’t increase the prices. In fact, the more percentage of other metals there is in a gold jewelry, the cheaper it is.

Fake Gold Mouse Sucks Bad
Sunday, April 12, 2009
This mouse is designed to look like gold bullion and it surely looks very odd and bad. It is one of the more ergonomically badly designed products released lately. It comes with only two regular buttons and not even a wheel to scroll.
The way it shines in its yellow, it would surely make you look like the tackiest creature ever. If trying to look cool was your intention, you might just forget about it. Buying this would only prove you are more uncool than Big Ethel from Archie’s comics.
It even costs $35 and that should help you understand why it is so tacky. It looks like gold but it is not. Moreover, gold and yellow look really bad. I would have liked something in silver though, as that would look more stately and chic.Labels: Gold

Monday, March 23, 2009
What Is Two Tone? Two-tone chains are made of yellow and white substances. The substances are usually white and yellow gold or silver sterling and any gold-plated metal, the point is a two tone gold chain consists of two different colors or tones. There are an increasing number of consumers who find the two-tone gold chain particularly attractive. Uniqueness What people find particularly attractive with these two-tone gold chains are the unique and beautiful designs where the gold tone is further accented by the white tone. This is not to say that the single tone jewelries out there are not beautiful. In fact, some of these single tone jewelries can be a match for the dual or two tone gold chain. Variety Another known fact is that there are many creative jewelry artisans who come up with new and lovely designs every now and thus it is not surprising that some of the two-tone gold chains also have precious stone set in the silver as well as gold tone chains. Gold Jewellery Care
Monday, October 13, 2008
Though Gold jewellery is available in various Karats the general cleaning is common for all varities. Following are some tips to be taken to handle the gold jewellery efficiently.
Gold jewellery should be removed before a shower. This is because soap can cause a film to form on gold jewellery, making it appear dull and dingy. There are many brands available in the market which serves to clean the gold jewellery. Soft chamois cloth is also a good option. One can retrieve complete information from the Jeweller regarding gold cleaning. Chlorine is disastrous!!! Your Gold jewellery can be permanently damaged and discoloured especially at high temperatures. Also, care should be taken not to use gold jewellery while using chlorine bleach or while in a swimming pool or hot bath tub. For home cleaning of gold jewellery, we can remove tarnish by using soap and water mixed with a few drops of ammonia followed by careful brushing with a soft bristle brush. After the brushing, simply rinse with lukewarm water and allow drying. Grease from gold jewellery can be removed by dipping the jewellery into plain rubbing alcohol. However care should be taken while cleaning gold jewellery with coloured gemstone pieces and consultation with Jeweller will be of help.Labels: Gold
