Blackbery with Sapphire Stones
Friday, October 30, 2009
It would be amazingly easy to mod any product with these cool Swarovski crystals and make them all go bling. Take this bike for example. Studded with Swarovski crystals it could make any heads turn and in fact if you rode it on the street people would definitely follow you to rob you. I am sure even women would love to ride this beauty and so would men. The crystal clad MZ motorcycle is one of its kinds and I would love to buy one for myself.
However there is no information about how many crystals were used and how much it might cost to buy this bike। You could always request your local Swarovski crystals dealer to deliver you loads of these shiny goodies so that you can mod your bike or car with crystals as well. And if it turns out to look good, don’t forget to write to us. We would always love to feature anything that has got crystals in it!

World's Most Expensive Coin - Auero & Calicó Auctioned
Sunday, October 25, 2009
The world saw its most expensive coin at the recently held auction in Barcelona. Organised by Auero & Calicó, this grand event had a participating coin that is being celebrated as the last one from the 1609 centen coin which is remarkable as the biggest solid gold coin to be ever minted in Spain.
A very rare money, this coin attracted a lot of attention from bidders, onlookers and media alike. Finally, it was sold to a huge bid of $1,202,566. The identity of the lucky bidder has been kept anonymous. We just know him as the bidder no. 74 and that this super rich person came from Europe. In fact, the surprised on his face was quite evident when he saw that absolutely no one challenged his opening bid of 1,202,566.
The coin in question was minted in Segovia and belonged to the priceless Knight of the Yndias collection that was on auction in Barcelona. There were other 2,200 rare items in gold on auction too. But it was this coin that stole the limelight.

Birthstone & Mother's Ring Cleaning Tips
Steps
- Fill 2 parts water and microwave on high for about one minute (almost to a boil)in a small Tupperware dish, or small cereal bowl
- Add 2 parts ammonia, or household glass cleaner to the heated water.
- Gently place the birthstone ring in cleaning solution for approximately 1.5 minutes, or until water has cooled to the touch. Do not put pearls in the cleaning solution.
- Remove the ring from the solution by grabbing the ring by the metal, and avoid touching the birthstones. For added cleaning, use a toothbrush to gently wipe away lotion, hair gel, or hair spray buildup on the lower side of the ring and birthstones.
- Place the ring on a dry paper towel and let it sit for at least five minutes. Gemstones are fairly hard and they will air dry just beautifully. The ammonia - or glass cleaner helps this process and yields a beautiful, "brand-new" look for your mother's or birthstone ring.
Tips- Make a Gemstone Cleaner Home Remedy with dish soap. Search the Internet for "Gemstone Cleaner Home Remedy"
- Never touch gemstones with your fingers. Gemstones have a natural affinity for grease and oil, primarily due to their hardness and the fact that the intricate settings simply get "clogged" with grease, body oil, and lotion.
- Although this cleaning process is very simple, it is best to consult with professionals on the subject of ongoing inspection of your mother's ring and other birthstone jewelry.
- Clean as often as needed. Most rings look best with a weekly cleaning.
- For a more intensive cleaning, take the ring to a reputable jeweler for a thorough cleaning.

Ruby Jewelry Tips & Guides
The ideal ruby has a color of vivid medium-dark tone of red. It is interesting, to know that a purple red ruby which is set in yellow gold will appear to be pure red, because the yellow from gold neutralizes the blue from purple red. So, this is a solution of having ruby jewelry with deep red color.
The ruby is considered to be the most powerful stone in the universe and it is also known as the stone of love. It is believed that rubies have positive healing effects on the circulation of blood and they also help in eliminating any infections from the body. If you receive a ruby as a gift, it is a symbol of friendship and love. And if you like to wear ruby rings, it is important to know that they should be worn on the left hand. In this way, you will receive life energy and you will be protected in the same time.
Being a stone that symbolizes passion and love, you should not be surprised that so many women and men are in love with ruby jewelry. People who buy rubies must be careful when buying such items of jewelry; the gemstones should not be shallow or poorly faceted because this will destroy much of ruby's beauty. If you decide to invest a consistent amount in these jewels, it is necessary for them to be impeccable.
There all kinds of jewels with rubies, in all shapes, sizes and combinations, all you need is enough time to decide which piece you like best। Ruby necklaces are amazing pieces of art from the hands of gifted artisans. The ruby is a refined stone, but in accordance with how jewels are designed, ruby necklaces can be fitted with almost every outfit and every occasion. A multistrand necklace is more appropriate for casual events than more elaborated types, which are more suitable for special events. If it is possible, necklaces can be assorted with ruby earrings, even if they came with the same set or not. More info hereLabels: Ruby

Michelle Obama’s Brooch
Sunday, October 4, 2009
Michelle Obama has exploded onto the fashion and jewelry scene in the last few years as her husband climbed the political ladder. Michelle Obama’s choice of fashion and dresses for various big political events has evoked praise and criticism for her ability to bring classic looks back in fashion while giving them her own personal flair. More than one fashion writer has pointed out that Michelle Obama’s choices of fashion appear to be influenced by Jacqueline Kennedy, though First Lady Obama has often taken classic looks and given them a slightly more modern look (sometimes too modern in many people’s opinions!) And while Hillary Clinton was sometimes criticized for not portraying a feminine enough image, Michelle Obama is not afraid to wear elegant and feminine jewelry and clothing that are sexy and refined at the time. Michelle Obama’s Brooch Love: When it comes to jewelry, Michelle Obama has already made her mark with one piece that was falling out of fashion: the brooch! Mrs. Obama often wears brooches that are glitzy and fun and add a dash of personality and color to some otherwise plain dresses. The brooches she chooses to wear are sometimes high-end jewelry with diamonds and gold, but some are downright inexpensive and could even be mistaken as something made at a craft fair or fashioned by hand. Unlike the other political women I’ve profiled, Michelle Obama doesn’t seem to stick with any one brooch or style. She seems to like mixing it up and even surprising people with what jewelry and brooch she’s going to wear next. (Michelle Obama can uses the same three brooches in different ways! ) See also Michelle Obama's Fashion Jewelry Style , Michelle Obama’s Diamond EarringsLabels: Celebrity-Jewelry

Michelle Obama’s Bead Jewelry
Michelle Obama and Traditional Bead Jewelry: When you think of the perfect jewelry for a First Lady, the white pearl necklace almost always comes to mind. Michelle Obama herself wears white pearls from time to time, but more often than not she’s wearing round, colorful beads of various shapes and sizes. Michelle Obama also wears diamonds, though they are often in dangling or fun pieces and not just reserved for earring studs and simple necklaces. She’s (or her stylist) is very good at matching and contrasting the color of her jewelry with her outfit so that everything she wears seems to naturally blend together.
Michelle Obama’s Funky Bead Jewelry: Michelle Obama’s love of fun and funky jewelry extends into other pieces of jewelry, from necklaces to bracelets to earrings. Mrs. Obama has been spotted wearing some over-the-top glitzy rhinestone necklaces, multi-standed beaded bracelets, floral rings and brooches and even (gasp!) dangling earrings! These are not usual jewelry choices for a First Lady, where the trends in most years has been to stay with simple pearls, smaller gold pieces and a little bit of silver from time to time. Essentially, the jewelry of most First Ladies in recent memory has been fairly staid, monochromatic, predictable and even a little boring.
Essentially, Michelle Obama is bringing some of the latest bead jewelry fashion trends from the hallways of PTA meetings into the hallways of The Whitehouse! She’s a younger woman who is in-touch with the latest jewelry fashions and she knows what she likes.
Mrs. Obama’s overall bead jewelry and fashion choices ultimately reflect the same trends we’ve seen in bead jewelry for the past couple years: larger beads, more color, more “statement” pieces and more bling! Everything is bigger and over-the-top, but not necessarily any more expensive or made with diamonds and high-end gemstones.
Michelle Obama will be coming from Chicago to Washington with an already impressive list of fashion and jewelry admirers and friends. Vanity Fair recently named Michelle Obama to its “International Best Dressed List” and it’s been reported that Oprah Winfrey has given Mrs. Obama total access to her own large collection of jewelry pieces!
With Michelle Obama we might be in for a surge in hand crafted bead jewelry or at least pieces with a little more bling and a little more fun। Here’s a quick recap of Michelle Obama’s inauguration jewelry: for the swearing in ceremony she wore a gold colored outfit designed by Isabel Toledo with a very impressive diamond or crystal studded pin at the collar. It was hard to tell if it was a brooch or if it’s actually a pin that was used to hold the jacket closed at her neck. For the inauguration balls she wore an ivory dress by a young designer named Jason Wu and accented it with dangling diamond earrings, diamond studded bracelets and a chunky diamond studded ring! Biggest Diamonds ever found discovered in South Africa
Thursday, October 1, 2009
The rough 507 carat white stone was unearthed at the historic Cullinan mine – where the famous Cullinan diamond was discovered in 1905.
A spokesman for the mining firm Petra Diamond said the gemstone found last week was among the world's 20 largest diamonds ever discovered.
He added: "Initial examinations indicate that it is of exceptional colour and clarity, and most likely to be a Type I diamond.
"At 507 carats (just over 100 grams) the diamond, which has yet to be named, is considered to be among the top 20 largest high quality rough diamonds ever found worldwide and ranks alongside other illustrious diamonds recovered at the celebrated Cullinan mine.
The stone was found alongside three other valuable diamonds, with miners also unearthing a gemstone of 168.00 carats and two other stones of 58.50 and 53.30 carats.
Petra confirmed the rocks were discovered during digging at the huge Cullinan mine, around 25 miles outside Pretoria in South Africa's mineral-rich Gauteng province.
The original 3,106 carat Cullinan diamond became the largest rough diamond ever discovered when it was found on January 26 1905 by miner Frederick Wells.
Once polished, the stone was presented to King Edward VII and now forms part of the British crown jewels.
Experts have put its value in excess of £200 million.
It was only overtaken as the world's biggest polished diamond in 1985 with the discovery of the Golden Jubilee diamond, also at the Cullinan mine.
That stone was smaller than the original on discovery but had a larger polished weight of 545 carats.
The Cullinan mine has also produced several of the world's other largest diamonds, including the famous Centenary diamond, at 599 carats rough.

Price of Gemstone
Precious Gemstones vs. Semi Precious Gemstones Precious gemstones are typically rarer, and therefore more expensive, than semi precious gemstones. Precious gemstones include diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds. Although pearls are technically not considered gemstones since they are formed organically, some consider them to be the equivalent of precious gems, especially when they are quality South Sea or Tahitian pearls.Sapphire ring
Semi Precious gemstones are comprised of the remainder of gems, including amethyst, citrine, garnet, topaz, morganite, peridot, opal, jade and coral. These are typically less expensive than precious stones because they are more readily available, although there are definitely exceptions to the rule. Rare versions of semi precious stones, such as Mandarin garnet or a fine specimen of Alexandrite, can cost just as much if not more than a precious stone. Much of a gemstone’s price depends on size and quality, as well as the distinction of precious versus semi-precious.
